This year we base ourselves between the beautiful towns of Moûtiers and Annecy, taking in five days French Alps cycling in the tracks of the pro peloton on some of the most picturesque cols used by the tour. Then on day five of your epic trip, 14 July – Bastille Day, you will ride to meet stage thirteen of this years Tour de France to watch the peloton take on the Col du Grand Colombier where every Frenchman in the country will be willing on a glorious win for home success – what an atmosphere!!
The Grand Colombier peaks out at over 1,500 metres. There are no surrounding mountains so the panoramic 360° view is out of this world – the perfect scene for a summit finish!

Day One > 9 July – Arrive to Moûtiers Hotel, prepare bikes before trip briefing and dinner.
Day Two > 10 July – 🚲 Col de La Madeleine over and back [1,993m Alt]
Day Three > 11 July – 🚲 Col de la Loze [2,304m Alt]
Day Four > 12 July – 🚲 Peisey-Nancroix [Refuge Rosuel] [1,551m Alt] via Cote du Longefoy [1,178m Alt]
Day Six > 13 July – 🚗 Morning transfer to Annecy Hotel – 🚲 Afternoon tour du lac d’Annecy
Day Seven > 14 July – 🚲 Watch Tdf Stage 13 – Col du Grand Colombier [1,498m Alt]
Day Eight > 15 July – 🚲 Cole du Semnoz [1,670m Alt]
Day Nine > 16 July – ✈ Return Home

Logistics
You should plan your flight into and out of Geneva International Airport [GVA]. Arrival day to the event is Sunday, 9 July and departure date is Saturday, 16 July.
Airport transfers are not included but can be arranged on request – please note, this will be an optional extra with a supplementary fee (POA).
Participants should ideally plan to seek airport car rental for the duration of the trip. This will help you with your transfers and also give you freedom of travel outside of your cycling. We do not recommend relying on public transport for your transfers during this event.
Weather & Kit
We can expect warm, sunny weather, however we should expect slight temperature drop and cool conditions on the mountains (800m+) and possible precipitation at altitude – Remember to bring layers – not heavy coverings.
This is a road bike tour. Your bike should be well maintained and in good running order with suitable ‘road gears’ and brakes, quality puncture resistant tyres are also good!.
A full kit list will be issued in your ‘Joining Instructions’ document after your application. We will be glad to discuss any aspect of kit and your bike with you, please call us anytime with any questions.
Fitness & Training
This is a level 4 cycle event. You will be capable of riding comfortably upto 120km in a day and/or used to riding distances upto 90km over hilly terrain – minimum. If you have any doubt as to your fitness regarding participation in this event please give us a call and we will be more than happy to chat with you.
5***** Cycling Holiday In Alps
Your first four nights are in the beautiful ‘Les Trois Vallées’. Surrounded by some of the most famous ski locations in France… Courchevel, Méribel, La Plagne the list goes on… All around you beautiful snow capped peaks which you will ride your bike high on the open pass roads to the summits of famous and historic TdF finishes. After this you will transfer for your final three nights to one of the most stunning glacier lakes in the world – Annecy! Here you will spend three days cycling more historic TdF roads including completing your own full circumnavigation of lake Annecy – the scene of some of the most memorable time trials in the Tour de France! Then, the big day… when you will ride out to watch stage 13 of this years tour on the spectacular Grand Colombier pass! Amongst 1000’s of countrymen screaming for a home triumph on Bastille day the atmosphere will be ‘une expérience royale‘!
