Adventure Creator

For Jason, a life well-lived is measured in miles, chain-links, and the steady hum of tires on tarmac. What began as in early life—marked by the greasy hands of a boy fixing friends bikes in a garage—has evolved into a lifelong career at the heart of the cycling industry. That early spark truly ignited as a young teenager taking friends on a bold expedition to London, where weaving through the bustle of Oxford Street and racing up the red asphalt of Pall Mall revealed a fundamental truth: no other form of travel offers such a raw, visceral sense of freedom.

In the decades since, Jason’s journey has continued with the bike being his constant companion and seen him go on to compete in triathlons across southern England and tackle the prestigious Cape Argus in South Africa, but his true calling emerged in his early days in the adventure challenge industry while leading challenges for charities and corporate groups. He found himself deeply moved by “everyday” people achieving extraordinary feats—individuals who weren’t lifelong athletes but possessed the grit to try. This inspiration became the bedrock of his career in the cycling adventure business, fueled by the firm belief that with the right support (and a little training), anyone can go on to conquer a grand continental cycling challenge.

After many successful years in the adventure challenge industry, Jason moved on in 2015 to create, European Cycling Tours, a thoroughbred cycling experience company designing, planning and delivering cycling holidays, tours and adventures. Bringing all his years of experience and knowledge to now creating unique and exciting cycling holidays and tours throughout Europe for all cyclists from all backgrounds. He still enjoys the charity challenges but now the focus was more about taking people to experience the more exotic, spectacular and famous parts of the European continent.

Now entering 2026, Jason stands as a veteran of the industry with a depth of experience that is difficult to rival. He has personally cycled through nearly every country in Europe, from the rugged mist covered landscapes of Scotland to the sun-drenched coastal paths of the Mediterranean, to the heady heights of the Alps to the spectacular coastline of arctic Norway. This unparalleled geographical knowledge allows him to excel at the intricate art of planning, delivering, and leading world-class tours across the UK and the continent… ask him about his London to Istanbul!

Also a qualified health professional, Jason brings a unique dual perspective to every holiday. He doesn’t just manage the logistics; he acts as a dedicated mentor, offering expert insight into training, fitness, and rider welfare to ensure every guest feels safe and empowered. Whether he is scouting a hidden backroad in the Pyrenees or leading a group through the rolling British countryside, his focus remains the same: sharing the magic of the open road. For Jason, this isn’t just a business; it’s about providing the expertise and encouragement needed to help cyclists of  all backgrounds complete a dream they once thought was out of reach.

The Boss of Organization

Clare is a keen sportswomen who has enjoyed many years from youth participating mostly in the netball leagues in and around London. Super competitive, she won’t take ‘no’ for an answer so is the ideal person to keep you motivated while on your cycling challenge or tour.

For many years also, she has been a swim teacher and water polo coach and has taught many children and adults their formative strokes in the pool right up to competing at club level across the southern counties. Now retired from swim coaching, she now has more time to take herself wild swimming wherever the opportunity presents itself, mostly in the South West of England where she is now based.

Super travelled over the years with many trips and holidays through business and family overseas, nothing phases Clare when it comes to dealing with people and situations that can arise when travelling. With a friendly nature combined with excellent people skills, she has developed just the right skills and temperament to ensure everything runs smoothly when in a foreign surrounding.

Following a career in city banking, she is also very organised and the perfect team member to keep things running to plan and on time while you are cycling your bike, organising logistics and hotels so that your trip goes absolutely perfectly! Clare has successfully brought all her transferable skills to the job of company director ensuring the administration and planning is 100% top notch! She is actively involved out of the office too being one of the integral support team on many of the tours, trips and events through the year… she’s also not bad at making sure there are enough bananas to go round for everyone 😄

Our Mission

At European Cycling Tours, our mission is to transform the ambition of every cyclist into a landmark achievement. We believe that the bicycle is the ultimate tool for discovery, and our goal is to open the world’s most iconic roads to everyone—from the nervous beginner to the seasoned endurance rider.

Since 2015, we have committed ourselves to a “People First” philosophy. Drawing on our team’s diverse backgrounds—ranging from British Cycling coaching and professional mountain biking to fire service resilience and personal training—we provide a safety net of professional expertise. We don’t just lead tours; we curate life-changing experiences where logistics, mechanical support, and rider welfare are handled with meticulous British standards of care.

We are driven by the belief that with the right encouragement, “extraordinary” is within everyone’s reach. Whether you are riding for charity, a corporate milestone, or personal pride, we promise to guide you with the same passion that first sparked our own love for the open road. At ECT, we don’t just show you Europe; we help you conquer it, one pedal stroke at a time.

Your Adventure... Our Passion

Meet The Crew

Will

An avid cyclist from a young age with a passion for bicycles of all types, I have developed not only my cycling and leadership skills, but also some awesome mechanic skills. Not always orthodox but 95% successful at getting you back on the road to complete the day’s route.

Having spent the last five years pursuing a career in outdoor pursuits and cycling, I have managed to rack up a suitable list of itineraries which I have both supported and ridden. Including Trans-European trips such as the epic Trans-Alp Munich to Venice, to the staple London-to-Paris trips (3 and 4 day itineraries), I have participated and completed many of them too.

Being a person with a strong sense of duty, I will do whatever I am able to help my group to achieve and finish the challenge. Having earned the title ‘The Motivator’ with many of my repeat trip customers, I will get you there, every time!

Driven by a passion for exploration and cultural discovery, he specialises in navigating the continent’s most iconic roads, always maintaining an enthusiastic and positive presence for the group.

The European mountains serve as their true home, where they find the perfect balance of magnificent scenery, clean air, and challenging terrain. For this guide, nothing beats the combination of a sharp Alpine ascent followed by blue skies and a cold lager.

Dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience on every European Cycling Tours (ECT) departure, they look forward to welcoming new riders and sharing the best routes Europe has to offer on future trips.

John C

Joining the ECT support team in 2019, John has enjoyed a long career in sports and leisure in many roles from a sailing & windsurfing instructor in resorts in Mallorca through to a director of a national sports and leisure management consultancy company.

Back in the ’80s, mountain biking was John’s first cycling passion as a way to escape London and to compete in the early days of UK MTB race events – strictly fun class! Family and work commitments took over for a number of years before returning to mountain biking in his 40s playing rugby became just too painful. He took up road cycling in 2013 stimulated by the need for a replacement hip and post-op rehab. He hasn’t stopped since – well, not until he broke his leg in a mountain biking mishap!

Now largely retired from his consultancy work, John still enjoys skiing and cycling and has supported group road cycling tours both in the UK and Europe since 2017. In 2022, John led two epic Manche to Med c2c tours through France taking in Ventoux. He has also supported tours in Spain, Belgium and the UK including the Scottish Highlands & Islands, LEJOG, L2P and L2B rides.

John L

Growing up in rural Dorset, John found that a bicycle was the only realistic form of transport—aside from his mother’s “taxi service.” However, like many, his passion for two wheels fell by the wayside once he learned to drive. It wasn’t until years later that the roles reversed; today, he firmly believes the only way to travel is by bike.

John’s return to cycling began on a mountain bike, where he rediscovered his love for the outdoors by exploring local highways and byways through cross-country riding. Eventually, he succumbed to what he once called “the dark side” and purchased a road bike—a decision that left him wondering why he hadn’t made the switch sooner.

Now a seasoned cyclist, John leads local group rides for both mountain and road enthusiasts. He also works with European Cycling Tours (ECT), where he has led and supported cyclists across more than 2,000km and five different European nations on epic challenges.

When he isn’t on the road, John is a fully qualified fitness instructor who regularly teaches spinning classes at his local sports centre.

Paul

Long serving ECT crew member, Paul, Is probably the most knowledgeable support crew member you will ever chance upon.

He was there in the year clunk, for the beginnings of Mountain Biking, when he raced to a professional level around the world. Paul was a prominent British mountain biker and cyclist, famous for being a key rider for Team Raleigh (often Raleigh-Dynatech) during the late 1980s and early 1990s, a significant era for UK MTB, known for his skills, riding with legends like Barrie Clark and Adrian Timmis, and participating in classic events racing for team Raleigh including grand mtb events like the Karapoti Classic, New Zealand’s longest-running annual mountain bike event.

He has worked in bicycle design and manufacture, as well as getting involved in designing Mountain Bike courses, teaching mountain biking skills and even publishing a how to ride skills book!

What Paul doesn’t know about bikes isn’t worth knowing! He has worked with various cycle adventure organisations for several years on cycling events of all nature from single day sportives to 1000km epic adventure rides right across Europe in just about every nation you can mention, not to forget of course plenty of miles in his ‘home’ country of New Zealand!

He’s owned and run three bike shops and has a background as a MTB mechanic.

He was involved with the original Pedal to Paris bike rides for 4 years on the trot, working as support mechanic and back up crew. Giles has worked in the bike industry for over 25 years, and in 2017 sold his M.A.D. business to pursue a new career as a Paramedic.

When not cycling, he keeps himself in shape running and regularly competes at events from 5km to Ultra distance, he has run four marathons, including London (twice!). Giles is chairman of two running clubs and is a Parkrun Event Director. Giles is also a fully qualified paragliding pilot and when he’s not busy crashing it, gets some airtime now and then! Giles motto is- KIIYP! …Just ask him!
