A fantastic opportunity awaits you as we prepare to ride not one incredible cycle tour but TWO!
Firstly we shall embark on a spectacular four day tour of the Western Cape taking such locations as the world famous R44 False Bay coast road, cycle through multiple nature reserves, Mont Rochelle pass, the Vineyards of Stellenbosch and the final spectacular ride into Cape Town and Table Mountain…and that’s before the following day we enter the worlds biggest ProAm sportive, the Cape Town Cycle Tour (formely known as the Cape Town Argus)… there is quite simply no other cycling experience quite like it anywhere in the world!

Itinerary

Day One – Arrive Cape Town airport – transfer to Stellenbosch hotel. Settle in before afternoon cycling excursion to winery Approx cycling distance 60km

Day Two – Stellenbosch to Hermanus – 145km +1,710m

Day Three – Hermanus to Simon’s Town – 150km +1,110m

Day Four – Simon’s Town to Cape Town – 100km +1,261m

Day Five – Rest Day in Cape Town city centre

Day Six – Cape Town Cycle Tour Sportive – 109km

Rest of day free after Cape Town Cycle Tour to pack and relax before evening flight home

Logistics

Recommended flight information will be given on your application.To help us help you, It is important you notify us of any extraordinary travel arrangements you may have that prevents you from arriving at the recommended times.
Your personal bags will be carried by the support vehicle throughout the event.
We strongly ask your bikes to be transported by bike bags (semi-rigid/soft). Please do not arrive to the event with rigid bike travel boxes. Support vehicles will have limited space and unable stow large solid bike boxes as well as all luggage and equipment through the event.
Please contact us with any questions regarding flight transport of your bike, we will be more than happy to discuss this further with you.

Weather & Kit

We can expect warm, sunny weather, however we should expect slight temperature drop and cool conditions on the mountains and in the evenings – Remember to bring layers – not heavy coverings.
This is a road tour, you should equip yourself with a road bike with good quality ‘touring tyres’. Your bike should be well maintained and in good running order with suitable ‘road gears’ and brakes. if you have any doubt regarding your bike set-up, please contact to discuss. Bike Hire available POA.
A full kit list will be issued in your ‘Joining Instructions’ document after your application. We will be glad to discuss any aspect of kit and your bike with you, please call us anytime with any questions.

Fitness & Training

This is a level 3 cycle event. You will be capable of riding comfortably upto 120km in a day (8hrs) and/or used to riding distances upto 80km over hilly terrain – minimum. If you have any doubt as to your fitness regarding participation in this event please give us a cal and we will be more than happy to chat with you.
Please arrive to the event ready to ride and not rely on ‘muscle memory’ or riding into ‘trip fitness’ – don’t let us or yourself down…please train to ride.
