Itinerary
Arrival Day > Wed, 19 June – ✈ Fly to Tromsø, arrive to hotel, prepare bikes before trip briefing and evening dinner.
Day One > Thurs, 20 June (Summer solstice ☀) – Cycle Tromsø to Sommarøy – 60km [+450m]
Day Two > Fri, 21 June – Cycle Sommarøy to Mefjordvær 55km [+350m] (includes ferry)
Day Three > Sat, 22 June – Cycle Mefjordvær to Torsken 65km [+800m]
Day Four > Sun, 23 June – Cycle Torsken to Sorreisa 90km +900m
Day Five > Mon, 24 June – Transfer return to Tromsø before afternoon and evening to explore the beautiful Arctic capital, Tromsø
Day Six > Tue, 25 June – Free morning before return flight home ✈
Daily riding distances are designed to allow comfortable cycling days taking in all the spectacular sights along the route and give you a relaxing time at each of our overnight locations to enjoy the residence and explore the surrounding area – plus a ferry or two along the way 🙂

Midnight sun is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the summer months in places north of the Arctic Circle, when the Sun remains visible at the local midnight.

The cycle along the west coast of Senja offers a journey through changing landscapes. The steep mountains plunging straight into the ocean are a breathtaking sight, and the most prominent feature on this route. The road twists and turns along deep fjords and through villages that cling to the narrow stripe between mountains and sea.

Logistics
You should plan your flight into and out of Tromsø Airport International Airport [TOS].
Airport transfers are included on designated days – arrival/depart times.
Through the event your luggage is transferred by the support vehicle.
Climate & Kit
We can expect mild/cool but sunny weather, remember to bring layers – not heavy coverings. A full kit list will be issued in your ‘Joining Instructions’ document after your application. We will be glad to discuss any aspect of kit and your bike with you, please call us anytime with any questions.
Fitness & Training
This is a level 3 cycle event. You will be capable of riding comfortably upto 100km in a day and/or used to riding distances up to 80km over hilly terrain – minimum.
A ten week cycling plan (provided) should help see you well on your way to happily completing your cycle of the beautiful Atlantic coast road. If you have any doubt as to your fitness regarding participation in this event please give us a call and we will be more than happy to chat with you.
Your Bike
A reliable road or gravel bike, ideally a make and model of good reputation and provenance.

Cruise the Senja fjord and feel the breeze in your hair as you pass old Nordik (viking) settlements and are told folk stories of how people lived back in time. Be on the lookout for sea eagles, whales, seals and many different bird species.
